Dec 22, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. For the past year, Barlinek S.A has been selling solid wood floors manufactured by a Romanian company belonging to the Barlinek Group. In the past few months the company has decided to increase production to 500,000 square meters, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. "When we started production last year," says Marek Janke, a member of Barlinek S.A.'s Management Board, "we knew that consumer interest in solid wood floors was increasing. We responded quickly to customers' needs by introducing the Barlinek solid board into our sale offer. The high quality of its production made an immediate impression not only in Poland, but also abroad," reckons Marek Janke. This year Barlinek S.A. will sell nearly 250,000 square meters of solid wood floors manufactured by Barlinek Romania S.A. According to Marek Janke, the demand for solid wood floors has increased significantly in recent months, an indication that the decision to double output was a valid one. Access to certified raw materials in Poland and Ukraine, as well as lower manufacturing costs in the case of the latter, were decisive in the location of two factories in Barlinek and Vinnitsa. "We are planning on commencing the investment at the start of 2011. We will probably achieve full planned output in the 2Q 2011," states Marek Janke. The new production line will make use of a modern machine park, specially configured to enable implementation of the new solutions which will appear in the product offer in the first half of the new year. The value of the investment amounts to around PLN 9 million ($3 million). This will allow Barlinek a total production next year of 500,000 square meters of solid flooring and a firm place among Europe's biggest manufacturers.
