The Brazilian planted tree industry product exports revenues had good performance in the April 2016 year-to-date figures, totaling $2.6 billion, a 7.3% increase year-over-year, when exports revenues totaled $2.4 billion, as Brazilian Tree Industry said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

The balance of the balance of trade for the industry in the first four months of the year was $2.3 billion, a 17.1% increase year-over-year.

From January through April 2016, the pulp exports volume recorded a growth of 16.7% compared to 2015, totaling 4.3 million tons. Production totaled 6.1 million tons, a 10.9% high year-over-year, when 5.5 million tons were produced.

Wood panels exports tripled in the first four months of the year, to 269,000 cubic meters, compared to 86,000 cubic meters recorded in the same period in 2015. Domestic sales totaled 2.1 million cubic meters, an 8.3% drop, year-over-year.

From January through April this year, paper exports achieved 689,000 tons, a 7.8% high compared to the same period last year. There was a slight increase of 0.7% in production, totaling 3.4 million tons. Domestic sales totaled 1.7 million tons in the first four months of the year, 1.2% higher volume year-over-year.
