Beginning from May, 25 2005 Byelorussia will introduce the unified mechanism of customs duties on timber products, paper and cardboard at EUR 35 and EUR 45 outside customs offices. The customs duties will be paid in national currency in accordance with the official exchange rate set by the National Bank of Byelorussia. The rates have been set in accordance with the article 114 of the Customs Code of Byelorussia and agreed with the Ministry of finance. According to the expert estimations, the modification of the rate mechanism will not reduce budget revenues. In accordance with the current Customs code rate the fixed rate is 0.15% of the lot price.
