CHINA: Furniture fair opens in Guangzhou.
The 11th China International Furniture Fair is scheduled to open on March 18 in Guangzhou, capital city of South China's Guangdong Province.
Also taking place under the same roof will be the Hometextile China 2003 and Woodwork & Furniwood China 2003 exhibition.
The furniture fair and two related professional exhibitions, are jointly sponsored by the China National Furniture Association, the China Foreign Trade Center Group and the Guangdong Furniture Association.
"The fair of this session will be bigger and of a higher standard than any of the previous 10 sessions, with exhibition space reaching 93,000 square meters, up 20 percent from a year ago," said Dai Xinguo, general manager of the China Foreign Trade Guangzhou Exhibition Corp, which manages the fair.
More than 900 globally renowned enterprises, including those based in the United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey, the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, China's Hong Kong and Taiwan, will show off their latest home furniture products, office furniture, woodworking machinery, furniture accessories and decorative furnishings during the four-day show.
And some 150 well-known home textile manufacturers will display their latest curtains, bed coverings, furniture fabrics, as well as a wide range of other fabrics.
Dai said that classically styled furniture will be high-lighted because of its popularity amongst overseas buyers, and also office furniture which has witnessed a higher level of market demand.
More than 10,000 professional buyers from some 50
countries and regions worldwide are expected to attend the
event.
