Canadian lumber output declines in August

Production in Quebec was 330 million board feet, up 30% from July and the highest since March, but the province was still down 28% year-to-date.
Ontario and the Maritimes also gained from July. British Columbia was at 751 million board feet, lowest since March. Through eight months, production in British Columbia reached 6.3 billion board feet, 24% behind last year's pace, and production throughout Canada was 25% behind last year's pace at 12.2 billion board feet.
