Coillte has begun a comprehensive redesign of its business-operating model. A key result of the redesign process was the decision to implement central dispatch systems and services. Trimble was selected for its field-proven forestry logistics and log truck dispatching, and in particular, Trimble's experience in supporting the transition to a more optimal timber delivery process, part of Trimble's Connected Forest strategy.

The selection of the Trimble's Forestry Logistics solution follows the implementation of Trimble's enterprise forest management solution at Coillte. Both components are core pieces of Trimble's Connected Forest that will enhance operational visibility to support optimization of Coillte's management and wood supply activities.
Trimble's enterprise forest management solution provides a robust platform for managing asset inventory as well as creating and evaluating strategic and operational plans for short and long-term planning windows. It allows decision makers to identify which actions need to happen and where they need to happen. The solution also allows managers to schedule activities, plan and manage budgets and allocate resources. Maps and related spatial data are integrated with plans, providing a thorough perspective on land-based activities and costs.
