Eastern seaport (Primorsky region) cargo turnover increased 30% to 1,274 million tons in January 2004 compared with the prior period in 2003, port authority public-affairs reported. Eastern port increased cargo transshipping 29% to 1,030 million tons. Coal transshipping increased 15$ to 860 thousand tons, including 848,3 thousand tons for export. East port cargo turnover was 796,2 thousand tons, including 748 thousand tons of coal cargo in January 2004. East-Urals cargo terminal reported mineral fertilizers cargo turnover down 3% to 72,7 thousand tons. Agrokhimvostokexport reported timber cargo up 6,2% to 9,2 thousand cub m in January 2004 compared with the prior period in 2003. Eastern International Container Service cargo turnover increased 69,7% to 21,664 thousand TEU in January 2004 compared with the prior period in 2003.
