Nov 15, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Egger of St. Johann, Tyrol, intention to reinforce its growth with a series of capital investments, has led to a further increase in orders for Krefeld-based machine manufacturer Siempelkamp. A new forming and press line is to be added to the company's existing particleboard line in Hexham, UK. Featuring a ContiRoll® 8.5‘ x 48.7 m with a planned daily capacity of 1800 cubic meters of 18-mm particleboard, the new addition will replace a 20 year old single-opening press.
At the same time an identical press was also ordered for a location which still has to be decided in eastern Europe.
Siempelkamp subsidiary Büttner will be delivering 4 chip driers for these orders.
Egger has also decided to convert its Brilon MDF plant, which was installed by Siempelkamp in 1995. By equipping the existing 33-m ContiRoll® with a flexible new infeed head and a preheating system, Siempelkamp will catapult the plant into the "modern age" in terms of both performance and board technology. It is particularly pleasing to see that MDF preheating now enjoys wide acceptance – for retrofits too.
For its factory in St. Johann, Tyrol, Egger has placed an order with Siempelkamp Handling Systeme (SHS) in Wolfratshausen, Germany for a plant to produce frameless light-weight boards (honeycomb boards). Over recent years SHS has developed its own solutions for components, glue application and calibration for such plants. This particular plant will fully automatically assemble the face and core layers, apply the glue and produce the bond in a 34 m long double belt press. The boards can be processed further immediately after the press.
Egger has been a customer of Siempelkamp Maschinen- und Anlagenbau for over 30 years. Nine ContiRoll® lines have been installed for the company to date in Austria, Germany, England and France for particleboard, MDF and OSB. Siempelkamp is delighted to enjoy the trust of one of the world's biggest producers of wood-based materials.
The EGGER Group with its headquarters in St. Johann/Tyrol - Austria ranks amongst the leading producers of wood-based materials in Europe. The product range includes chipboards, MDF and OSB boards as well as numerous upgraded products, making up a comprehensive, harmonious complete programme for application areas ranging from the floor to the ceiling.
The Siempelkamp Group is a corporate group which, with its separate business units, is an international supplier of equipment to industry covering diverse market segments.
