Finland produced a total of 12.78 million tonnes of paper and cardboard for 2002, an increase of 2.2 pct year-on-year, the Finnish Forest Industries Federation said. Paper output stood at 10.04 million tonnes, up by 1.4 pct year-on-year. Production of printing and writing paper totalled 7.94 million tonnes and newsprint production stood at 1.01 million tonnes, up 4.6 pct and down 22.3 pct year-on-year, respectively. Cardboard output increased by 5.3 pct year-on-year to 2.74 million tonnes. Finland produced 11.73 million tonnes of pulp, an increase of 5.0 pct year-on-year. Chemical pulp output rose by 9.1 pct year-on-year to 7.14 million tonnes.
