Finnish inventor develops paper machine lead-in strip guiding method

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to a method for conveying and guiding a lead-in strip in a paper machine, in which method a lead-in strip is directed over a run of a conveyor in the paper machine and a longitudinal vacuum effect is produced across the run of the conveyor in the direction of moment of the run of the conveyor."
The inventor was issued U.S. patent № 6 972 073 on December 6. The patent has been assigned to Metso Paper Inc., Helsinki, Finland.
The original application was filed on January 22, 2003.
