Jan 27, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. The forest machines are changing name from Valmet to Komatsu, but their distinctive red color will remain, as Komatsu Forest said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
"We are proud that our forest machines are now full members of the Komatsu family, and ultimate validation is that they will be called Komatsu," says Toshio Miyake, CEO of Komatsu Forest.
"I am confident that the change of name to Komatsu will entail added value for forest contractors, who will benefit from a number of advantages of working with a strong, reliable company with even clearer ties to a large conglomerate," says Toshio Miyake.
Parallel to the machines changing name, the company is also launching two new harvesters, the Komatsu 931.1 and the Komatsu 911.5, both of which boast – among other things – a completely new engine with optimized combustion, reduced emissions, and considerably lower fuel consumption – as much as 16% lower when compared to today's Stage 3/Tier 3 engines.
