Oct 26, 2004. /Lesprom Network/. The recent monitoring of forests in Germany showed that the amount of forest resources increased 17% from 2.28 billion cub m in 1987 to 2.63 billion cub m in 2004, an average of 320 m per hectare.
Annual forest resources increase of 60 thousand cub m is used only 75% (annual timber production is 40 million cub m).
The government is working out a number of measures aimed at stimulating the growth of demand for timber products, as well as the growth of timber production in German forests.
