French Supplier Delays Turkmenian First Pulp and Paper Mill Launch

On February, 19 2004 the first pulp and paper mill in Turkmenistan was due to start production in Yasilik (East Turkmenistan), however the launch was delayed until April 2004 due to the delay in supplies of French equipment.

‘The paper machine has already been installed and is about to start operation. Staff training will also be completed soon’ a source close to the project said. The enterprise’s project capacity is 250 tons/day of pure pulp non-covered paper.
Voith Paper installed the paper machine and several Indian companies supplied a stock preparation line. The construction of the mill worth $100 million began in June 2002
