Hampton Affiliates of Portland, Ore., has announced the temporary curtailment of Willamina Lumber Co. in Willamina, Ore., and Randle Lumber Co. in Randle, Wash., effective Monday, April 18, as Random Lengths reported. A company spokesman cited high log costs and unstable lumber markets. All sections of the mill operations will participate in the shutdown, including shipping departments. Market conditions will be reviewed weekly, and operating decisions will be dictated by improvements in the lumber outlook, the spokesman said.
