Apr 24, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. The Haiphong Paper Joint-stock Company (Hapaco), Vietnam, put into operation its new kraft paper factory after three years of construction, said company general director Vu Duong Hien, TNS agency reported.
The VND300 billion ($18.9 million) factory was designed with a capacity to produce 50 000 tonnes of kraft paper per year, making it the second-largest paper factory in northern Vietnam, he said.
Hapaco expects to raise its revenue by 60% once production begins at the new facility.
The factory is expected to help reduce the country's import of kraft paper, saving tens of millions of US dollars each year.
Vietnam annually imports more than 400 000 tonnes of kraft paper materials for packing factories.
