Sep 20, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Ilim Timber started operations at Ilim Timber Bavaria in Landsberg am Lech, Germany. The mill had been stopped more than a year ago when Klausner Group, the previous owner of the mill, got in financial turbulence during the economic crisis, company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. Ilim Timber Bavaria accumulated stable log reserves on its log yards for operating in one shift with the mill capacity approximately 700 cubic metres of sawn timber per day. There are 130 people working at the mill. Sawn timber from the mill is dedicated for the European and domestic markets. “Start of sawmill in Landsberg proves Ilim Timber will to develop business in Europe and achieve certain level of capacity utilization.
