International Paper to receive National Geographic Society’s Chairman’s Award

Oct 13, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. In recognition of International Paper’s considerable efforts toward improving the quality of geography education in the nation’s schools, National Geographic will present the company with the Society’s Chairman’s Award on October 13, 2010.
The award, “for significantly advancing knowledge of the world and all that is in it,” is given to individuals and organizations for outstanding leadership in education, conservation and wildlife management programs. The award will be presented in Washington, D.C., by National Geographic Chairman Gilbert M. Grosvenor to International Paper Chairman and CEO John Faraci.
The National Geographic Society is one of the world’s largest nonprofit scientific and educational organizations.
