Kimberly-Clark Italia, a subsidiary of U.S. consumer products maker Kimberly-Clark, has appointed Roberto Besso, 45, president and CEO, it was reported on December 14, 2005. Mr. Besso succeeds Alberto Cappellini who has been appointed president and CEO of Kimberly-Clark's Family Care Europe division. Mr. Besso, an electronic engineering graduate, joined Kimberly-Clark in 1991 as responsible for the development of the company's strategies related to the launch of new products on the Italian market. In 1993, Besso was appointed key account manager at Kimberly-Clark's Italian subsidiary. Subsequently, he became director of Kimberly-Clark Italia's logistics and customer service division. Kimberly-Clark, established in 1872, currently sells its products in more than 150 countries worldwide. The company runs production plants in 37 countries.
