May 28, 2012. /Lesprom Network/. Norvik Timber Industries' Estonian subsidiary Laesti has started up its second sawmill in Sauga. The sawmill, which will mainly produce small diameter logs, increases Laesti's annual production to 80,000 cubic metres of sawn timber, as TTJ reported. “The construction process took just over one year and was accomplished within budget,” said Olavi Tang, managing director of Laesti. “We see Estonia as a strategic country where we want to grow our presence and the Laesti Sauga sawmill project supports this,” added Sampsa Auvinen, CEO of Norvik Timber Industries.
