Romanian furniture maker Losan Romania posted Euro 30.5 million in turnover in 2005, climbing 21% from 2004, Rompres declared on Tuesday, May 2, citing the Ziarul Financiar daily. Losan Co. has a factory in Ghimbav, out of Brasov, center of Romania, where it produces veneer. Euro 4 million were invested in the unit, which started being built in 2000 and operating in 2001. Last year, the company announced a new investment, in Bucharest this time, in a facility for the production of melamine panels for the Romanian market. Losan Romania Co. was employing 492 people in late 2005. The Losan Group has six production facilities in Spain, Romania, the Netherlands and South America. The group, whose operational center is in Spain, is one of the main players in the Iberian Peninsula in wood processing, along with Tafisa-Glunz and Finsa Group, and tops the veneer market.
