Apr 10, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. M-real Consumer Packaging is launching two new fully wet strength label papers aimed at the expanding beer and beverage market. Known as Simcastor Label WS, a supercalendered label, and Simcastor Label WSE, linen embossed label. Both Simcastor Label WS and Simcastor Label WSE offer full wet-strength, starting from the manufacturing process, in chiller cabinets in wholesale and retail environments, and in the home. They come in basis weights of 70, 75 and 80 g/m2, and both are alkaline resistant. Eija Weckstrom-Rita, Sales Director of M-real Consumer Packaging comments on the launch: “Around 95% of wet-glue labels are made from paper, which is a sustainable choice. The main end user is the beverage industry – approximately 80% - so it made sense for M-real to take our expertise in label paper manufacture to launch two new full wet strength products.” Simcastor Label papers are produced at M-real Simpele Mill in Eastern Finland, manufactured to high environmental and quality standards that include PEFC Chain of Custody, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 22000. They are available in both sheets and reels, and have good availability thanks to short production cycles. M-real Consumer Packaging is a leading supplier of label papers in Russia and other CIS countries.
