Metsä Wood completes labor negotiations to reduce workforce
Metsä Wood has completed the statutory labour negotiations to implement a new target organisation model at all of its Kerto® LVL and plywood mills. As a result of the negotiations, altogether 48 people will leave the organisation. The personnel reductions will mainly be implemented during the 1Q 2016.

a new target organisation model at all of its Kerto® LVL and plywood mills, as
the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
The programme aims for further improvements in production excellence in
line with the company’s industrial efficiency strategy and for increased labour
flexibility at its production units in Finland. Metsä Wood’s sawmills
introduced the new target organisation model during 2015 and the new salary
system on 1 January 2016.
As a result of the negotiations, altogether 48 people will leave the
organisation. The personnel reductions will mainly be implemented during the 1Q
2016.
