Oct 06, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Metso Paper said that Syktyvkar Tissue Group has started-up a new tissue machine, PM 2, at its mill in in Syktyvkar, Republic of Komi, in northwestern Russia. The new PM 2 is a 2.7-meter-wide tissue machine having a design speed of 1,600 m/min and a daily production of 60 - 90 tones. The Syktyvkar mill, since 2003 operated by Syktyvkar Tissue Group, has hosted tissue production for more than 20 years. The company, employing close to 400 persons, produces 20,000 t/y of tissue in a grammage range of 17-32 gsm, sold as base tissue and as different converted products. Metso Paper specializes in pulp, paper and power generation industry processes, machinery, equipment and aftermarket services.
