Oct 13, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. The board machine PM 1 of Cheng Loong Corporation's Ta-Yuan mill in Taiwan has been successfully started up on October 3, 2008 after a headbox rebuild, Metso reported. The delivery included a new ValFlo headbox for the top ply, relocation of the existing headbox, approach flow systems and system engineering. The main target of the rebuild was to improve the quality and the cross direction profiles of the board produced. The Ta-Yuan PM 1 produces jute liner in a basis weight range of 125-270 gsm. The machine has a wire width of 5.2 m and a design speed of 850 m/min. Cheng Loong Corporation is the largest integrated industrial paper company in Taiwan. CLC currently operates four paper mills and five box plants in Taiwan.
