Jan 10, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. The 64 members of United Steelworkers Local 9260 are in the process of going back to work, after ratifying a new collective agreement by 72%. The members, employees at Midway Lumber in Thessalon, Ontario have been on strike for five weeks. The new contract includes a 6% wage increase over the length of the 5 year contract, as ForestTalk reported. The management had wanted to lower the cap on prescription drug expenses from $10,000 to $5,000. Instead the two sides have mutually agreed to a benefit cap of $7,500 for prescriptions. The workers have been on strike since they walked off the job on December 4th, 2010.
