Minerals Technologies Inc. on Wednesday said its second-quarter results would be "significantly" lower than earlier expectations because of an extended lockout in the Finnish paper industry. Three analysts on average are expecting it to earn $0.79 a share excluding any extraordinary item for the quarter, while the consensus revenue view of two analysts is $258.5 million, according to Reuters Estimates. The company did not say what the earlier estimates were.
The company produces and sells minerals and equipment to the paper and steel industries.
