Moldova reported industrial production up 13,6% in comparable prices in 2003 compared with the prior period in 2002 and reached MDL 16,1 billion ($1 - MDL 13,2), republican statistics department reported. Paper and cardboard production - MDL 182,6 million (+82%), furniture - MDL 90,8 million (+22%), agricultural machinery MDL - 116 million (+15%).

Moldova reported industrial production up 13,6% in comparable prices in 2003 compared with the prior period in 2002 and reached MDL 16,1 billion ($1 - MDL 13,2), republican statistics department reported. Paper and cardboard production - MDL 182,6 million (+82%), furniture - MDL 90,8 million (+22%), agricultural machinery MDL - 116 million (+15%).
Food industry production - MDL 7,3 billion (+16%), including wine enterprises - MDL 3,05 billion (+21%), alcohol drinks distilling and rectification - MDL 410,8 million (+26%), oils and grease production - MDL 429,5 million (+39%), beer - MDL 313,4 million (+26%), mineral water and beverages - MDL 94,2 million (+24%), meat - MDL 473,6 million (+18%), dairy products - MDL 543,8 million (+11%).
Furniture production declined 40% to MDL 43,5 million. According to budget and tax policy main tendencies and macroeconomic situation in 2003-2005 Moldovan industry forecasts predict an 8% growth in comparable prices in 2004.
