Feb 24, 2016. /Lesprom Network/. NEPCon, an international certification body, has successfully audited again the procedures of Danzer companies Danzer UK, Danzer Veneer Europe and Interholco, end of 2015. NEPCon prolongs the LegalSourceTM certificate for all three subsidiaries, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

In 2014, Danzer was the first company trading in temperate and tropical wood to earn the NEPCon LegalSourceTM certification.
“We have one of the industry’s most extensive and experienced procurement networks to ensure a reliable supply from responsibly managed forests,” says Hans-Joachim Danzer, CEO. “This certificate gives us and our customers a high level of confidence that our operations and our Due Diligence System for timber procurement conforms to EUTR requirements.”

The EU Timber Regulation aims to reduce illegal logging by ensuring that no illegal timber or timber products can be sold in the EU. It prohibits operators in Europe from placing illegally harvested timber and products derived from illegal timber on the EU market.
NEPCon has developed the LegalSourceTM Standard and Due Diligence System in order to provide tools for addressing conformity with the EU Timber Regulation. The LegalSourceTMcertificate is valid for 5 years and audited annually.

Danzer is a leading quality hardwood company. Danzer owns and manages forests sustainably and produces veneer, timber and innovative value-added wood products for decorative purposes.
