Neenah Paper to withdraw from pulp business

The company, which emerged through the spin-off from the paper division and the Canadian pulp operations of Kimberly-Clark, announced that it plans to sell its pulp mill in Pictou/Nova Scotia as well as its forestry assets in the Canadian province within the next twelve months.

The company, which emerged through the spin-off from the paper division and the Canadian pulp operations of Kimberly-Clark, announced that it plans to sell its pulp mill in Pictou/Nova Scotia as well as its forestry assets in the Canadian province within the next twelve months, EUWID pulp and paper reported.
The Pictou pulp mill with an annual capacity of 265 thousand tonnes mainly produces softwood pulp and was founded in 1967 by Scott Paper Company. It came under the ownership of Kimberly-Clark Corporation as a result of a merger with Scott Paper in 1996.
