Jul 26, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. According to the Minister of Environment, the draft legislation for Forestry and Wildlife (Peru) is expected to be passed in August. The new law is required to fulfill the commitment made under the Free Trade Agreement with the USA. The commitment includes terms related to Land Use, Land-Use Change and Forestry, ITTO reported. However, the draft "Law of Forestry and Wildlife" is still said to be controversial in terms of classification of land, ecological zoning and standards for final decision making.
