Polish paper and pulp manufacturer Mondi Packaging Paper Swiecie SA (Swiecie) plans to invest 66 mln Polish zloty ($22.7 mln/ Euro 17 mln) in 2005, reported Polish News Digest. Swiecie is considering acquisition of other sector companies. Swiecie forecasts a lower net profit for 2005 compared to 2004, when it posted a net profit of 310 mln zloty ($106.4 mln/ Euro 79.7 mln), the deputy chairman of the company's supervisory board, Peter Oswald, said. Swiecie will pay a 4.0 zloty ($1.4/ Euro 1.0) dividend per share for 2004. The company will earmark 200 mln zloty ($68.6 mln/ Euro 51.4 mln) for dividend payment out of the 2004 net profit. Swiecie allocated 250 mln zloty ($85.8 mln/ Euro 64.3 mln) for 2003 dividend payment or 5.0 zloty ($1.7/1.3 Euro) per share. Swiecie, based in Swiecie, northern Poland, produces 737,000 tonnes of paper annually. It is a unit of South African-based paper making group Mondi. Mondi Packaging Paper Swiecie is the former Frantschach Swiecie.
