ProBuild acquires Oso Lumber in Washington, USA

Apr 29, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. ProBuild Company LLC has reached an agreement to purchase the assets of Oso Lumber Inc., a building materials supplier based in Arlington, Washington, USA. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network.
"The addition of Oso will provide tremendous benefit and value to builders serving the Western Washington market," said ProBuild CEO Paul Hylbert. "By acquiring an outstanding company like Oso, ProBuild can combine its national scope with Oso's local expertise and insight to offer customers unparalleled customer service and value."
"This is a great opportunity for both Oso Lumber and ProBuild," said Oso President Adam Lingenfelter. "Oso Lumber has a substantial market presence in the Puget Sound, and the purchase of Oso significantly strengthens ProBuild's position here."
Oso, a privately held corporation, was started in 1978. The company began operations with a single location in Darrington, WA and evolved to the scale it has today with six locations including a state of the art component plant located in Arlington.
ProBuild Holdings is the nation's largest supplier of building materials to professional contractors. ProBuild currently operates more than 470 lumber and building product distribution, manufacturing and assembly centers serving 42 U.S. states.
