Jul 10, 2012. /Lesprom Network/. A slight drop in Romania's GDP over the 1Q 2012 did not prevent the country's forestry and agriculture sector from enjoying an impressive period of growth, expanding by roughly 4%, as KMS Baltics reported.
The country's Statistics Institute noted that it also saw higher tax revenue and anticipates economic expansion of 1.5% over the course of 2012, despite the fact that it is now technically in a recession following two successive drops in GDP.
Speaking to the news provider, Ernst & Young Romania managing partner Bogdan Ion recently suggested the country is becoming more attractive to foreign individuals and companies interested in forestry investment and other purchases.
"We see more and more investors attracted by the renewable energy sector. More privatisations are planned in the future, encouraging investors worldwide to look to our country," said Mr Ion.
