Jan 29, 2004. /Lesprom Network/. The launch of paper machine-8 on Nemansky pulp and paper mill will take place on February,12 at 12.00 (Podgornata str, 3, Neman city, Russia). Kaliningrad region governor Egorov V.G. is expected to attend the ceremony, North-West Timber Industry Company public-affairs told Lesprom.ru.
Actually the enterprise is accomplishing the test of BDM-8 paper machine, the last of the paper machines modernized by North-West Timber Industry Company specialists after the holding acquired Nemansky.
Nemansky was purchased by North-West Timber Industry Company in late 1999, after a 3 year’s idle time - the enterprise was ruined by the former owners. 5 paper machines (BDM - 1,3,4,5,7) were launched within a week. BDM-2 was launched within a year. BDM-6 was considered inefficient and was dismantled.
The reconstruction of BDM-8 was delayed, while the market in the late 90-s demanded more subparchment production. The reconstruction started in late 2002.
At the time polyethylene package was replaced by environmentally safe on and biologically decomposing. Parchment paper consumption, an ideal paper-type for package production (including package for low-fat, fish and frozen products) increased 13%. Subparchment production was considered a priority production trend by North-West Timber Industry Company by the Canadian Sandwell consulting company, which had designed Nemansky reconstruction plan.
Today Nemansky is exporting subparchment to Czech Republic, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Poland, South African Republic, China, Vietnam and other states. Subparchment production by BDM-7 is 7 thousand tons/yr, while BDM-8 will produce 10 thousand tons/yr.
Nemansky fulfilled BDM-8 pressure box reconstruction, net elements change, new regulated driving gear installation, the reconstruction of the vacuum equipment, ventilation and heat-recuperation systems, as well as central lubrication system and new longitudal cutting lathe reconstruction.
