Mar 10, 2004. /Lesprom Network/. Russian Segezhsky intends to launch modernized paper machine-9 (BDM-9) on March, 15 2004. Paper machine-10 (BDM-10) will be launched in the second quarter of 2004. The necessary equipment supplies for BDM-9 ventilation modernization were carried out in early February. Russian Petrozavodskmash company was a subsupplier in accordance with the contract. Presently the machine is under pre-launch installation and preparation. Segezhsky is also modernizing paper machine-10 (BDM-10) with the cooperation of Metso Paper. The machine reconstruction will cost more than EUR 40 million. After the modernization is accomplished BDM-10 is expected to enter world’s top-three paper machines list to produce bag paper – the facility will show an example of perfect technical and speed specifications and of high-quality production. The present contract signed by Segezhsky pulp and paper mill and Metso Paper envisages the launch of BDM-10 in the second quarter of 2004.
