May 10, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Södra has announced an increase of $20 per tonne for softwood pulp in Europe. The new price, valid from 1 June, will be $980 per tonne. “The pulp market remains solid, with strong demand and low stocks”, said Ulf Edman, President of Södra Cell International. Sodra is the world's third largest supplier of market pulp. The company operates five pulp mills — three in Sweden and two in Norway — with a total capacity of 2.1 million tons per year, of which just over 100,000 tons is mechanical pulp (CTMP) and the rest bleached sulphate pulp.
