Headed by John Buffel, appointed as Quality Assurance Manager, the new team consists of Richard Inskip, Quality Assurance Coordinator, and three Quality Control Coordinators at each of SCA’s sites; Dave Griffiths at Stoke, Peter Scott at Welshpool and Craig Kirby at the newly-established Melton site.
Working to quality management system ISO 9001:2008, the focus for the team is on the whole supply process from inbound goods through to manufacturing processes and outbound deliveries. Involvement from suppliers and SCA’s Swedish sawmills will ensure new procedures in quality management and quality checking are streamlined for all sites.
John Buffel, who has worked at SCA for 12 years, comments, “As a team we are all very passionate about quality. Our main aim is to enhance SCA’s existing processes to ensure our products are of the highest quality standard at all times. We are working closely together across our sites to continuously improve our existing standards. We all know how important quality is and it is our job to ensure that we provide our customers with consistent quality.”
