As of 1 December 2011, SCA Skog will reduce the price for pine sawlogs with SEK 30 ($4.5) per cubic meter under bark and for spruce sawlogs with SEK 20 ($3) per cubic meter. SCA Skog will also temporarily reduce production, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. The price reduction concerns the base price all over SCA Skog’s business operations. The price on pulp wood is not affected. “The price reduction on sawlogs is an adjustment to the situation at our sawmills, which will be reducing their production around the turn of the year as announced last week”, says Jörgen Bendz, wood procurement manager, SCA Skog. As a consequence of the supply situation, SCA Skog will also temporarily reduce production during early winter.
