The new site offers paper merchants and printers many additional options for real time order management and communication of important information from order through to invoice. The site is the result of the global standardization of Sappi's SAP/R3-based enterprise resource planning and other sales management and supply chain systems. It enables Sappi customers to request delivery quotations, place orders, find and track orders in real time, print off important sales, delivery and invoice documents, and access a range of financial and other reports to assist in day-to-day operations management and forecasting. "The new site has been designed to meet the specific needs of our customers and give them competitive edge," says Sappi’s e-Business сoordinator, Claudia Poeckl. "They need to be able to steer their business with us in a simple and highly efficient way. Some 40% of our orders are already processed electronically and we expect this percentage to increase significantly as the new site takes off." Over the next few months Sappi will connect the new site to customers throughout Europe and the Middle East, as well as in other Sappi regions around the world.
