Segezha targets exports with upgraded sack kraft unit
Segezha produces sack kraft paper on the plant's PM 9 and PM 10 for both the export and domestic markets. The aim of the investment was to improve the quality of PM 10's output, which is destined for export. The Russian firm launched production of extensible sack kraft paper on the unit in February 2002, following the installation of an extensible unit from Voith Paper.
Sept. 15, 2002 - Segezha inaugurated a new refining line on its sack kraft PM 10 on September 10. Metso Paper supplied and installed the unit on the 79,000 tonne/yr machine at the mill in Russia's Karelia region, near the Russo-Finnish border.

The Segezha plant produces 400,000 tonnes/yr of kraft pulp, 350,000 tonnes/yr of sack paper and more than 500 million sacks/yr.
