Servalakshmi Paper Ltd announced that it has been certified by Forest Stewardship Council certificate (FSC), an international certification and labelling system, that guarantees that paper and wood products carrying its label, come from environmentally and socially responsible sources.
“We are happy to announce that our company through FSC certification will match the global standards required for production exports. The certification is not only a great encouragement but also an international recognition that will further help us to strengthen our exports by getting access to new environmental sensitive markets like US and Europe,” said Mr. R. Ramswamy, Chairman & Managing Director of Servalakshmi Paper Ltd.
“Our mill being strategically located at 72 km away from Tuticorin Port enjoys the geographical benefits for exports, thereby reducing the inland transportation cost compared to competitors. The FSC certification is a step ahead to further strengthen our foothold in exports. Our company intends to market around 20% of the production as exports initially and then increase the same to 30-40% within 2 years of period. We will target Middle East, South Africa, Europe, USA and South East Asia,” he further added.
The company also plans to use Eco-friendly Recycled paper as input raw material for making of newsprint, wood-free PWP grades, which would further improve the product demand in international market.
