Apr 21, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. With Euro 808 million, G. Siempelkamp GmbH & Co. KG has reached another record high regarding the number of new orders in 2010. With a turnover of Euro 494 million the Group has once again achieved an excellent business result. All national and international production locations are operating at full capacity utilization until 2012, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
The Siempelkamp Group including the three business units 'machine and plant engineering', 'foundry technology', and 'nuclear technology' is, among other products, world market leader for continuous press lines for the wood-based panel industry. In 2010 the company achieved extremely positive results. The number of new orders amounting to 808 million Euros illustrates that the business units have efficiently used the globally revived willingness to invest. This collective number of new orders corresponds to a two and a half times increase compared to the previous year. The machine and plant engineering business unit was even able to triple the number of incoming orders.
"With a total turnover of Euro 494 million and an EBITDA margin of 8.8%, our sales results from 2010 are a big success," says Dr. Hans W. Fechner, CEO G. Siempelkamp GmbH & Co. KG.
The machine and plant engineering business unit experienced a sudden surge in demand from the wood-based panel industry starting with the 2Q 2010, exceeding the number of orders from 2007 and 2008 by far. 23 new orders for wood-based panel plants laid the foundation for this success.
With a new order intake of Euro 72.5 million the foundry technology business unit registered an increase of 54%, a very positive trend. At the same time, this business unit has outperformed its own 2009 world record for nodular cast iron with 283 t (312 US tons) of molten iron. The new record represents a press beam which was cast for a metal forming press that forges structural parts for the aircraft industry.
