Slovak Amico Drevo swings to profit in 2004
. Slovak timber processing company Amico Drevo ended 2004 with a net profit of SKK 9.5 million ($289 300), compared to a loss of SKK 3.3 million ($100 500) for 2003.
Dec 14, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Slovak timber processing company Amico Drevo ended 2004 with a net profit of SKK 9.5 million ($289 300), compared to a loss of SKK 3.3 million ($100 500) for 2003. The company posted an operating profit of SKK 11.1 million ($338 000) and a SKK 140 000 ($4 300) loss from financial operations for 2004.
Amico Drevo's sales revenue for the period rose by 40% to SKK 269.1 million ($8.2 million). The company's production climbed by nearly 30% to SKK 264.2 million ($8.0 million), while value added increased by one-third to SKK 65.4 million ($2.0 million).
Amico Drevo had total assets of SKK 66.7 million ($8.1 million) at the end of December 2004, of which fixed assets accounted for SKK 193.4 million ($5.9 million). Short-term receivables stood at SKK 28.8 million ($877 000). The company's liabilities totalled SKK 119.8 million ($3.6 million) at the end of 2004, of which short-term liabilities stood at SKK 91.7 million ($2.8 million).
Amico Drevo, established in 2001, is 75% owned by Luxembourg's company Skipper Investments SA, according to data from the Slovak Companies Register. Amico Drevo has a share capital of SKK 130.7 million ($4.0 million).
