Slovak luxury furniture producer Furni Finish has opened a 100 mln Slovak crown ($2.4 mln/2.4 mln euro) plant in Tupa, southwestern Slovakia, a company representative, Atill Patai, said on January 14, 2003. A total 70 mln crowns ($1.8 mln/1.7 mln euro) of the investment was spent on the premises and the remaining 30 mln crowns ($760,000/721,000 euro) went for technical equipment. The plant will crate 250 jobs and it will export 99 pct of productions. The company has operated in Slovakia since 1998 through its plant in Sahy, southern Slovakia. It buys timber materials from Slovak companies and imports leather. No further details were available.
