Sep 12, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. Paper and cardboard recycler Smurfit Kappa Recycling appointed Andrew Perkins as commercial director. He will take up his new role at the beginning of December 2011, as the local resource reported. Andrew Perkins will join Smurfit Kappa Recycling from Aylesford Newsprint, where he has been head of recycling for a business that handled 500,000 tonnes of material per year. His many years of experience in growing paper recycling businesses and increasing recovered paper supplies also includes a spell at Biffa. Smurfit Kappa Recycling's current commercial director Martin Blood, who has been with the company for more than 40 years, is stepping down from his current role, but will continue to work for the company on a part-time basis and assisting Andrew Perkins. "I am delighted that Andrew will be joining us later this year as commercial director," said Simon Weston, managing director of Smurfit Kappa Recycling. "His many years of experience in the paper recycling business will add further strength to our team and I know he is looking forward to the fresh challenge."
