Jun 04, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. The Tejani family has signed an agreement to sell the LPC Group to family owned Sofidel S.p.A. Completion of the sale is subject to the receipt of required regulatory approval in Germany. The combination of LPC and Sofidel will create Europe’s second largest tissue producer with a combined turnover of Euro 1.3 billion per annum, company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. The enlarged group will be enabled to serve its customers with a broader range of products from its reinforced manufacturing footprint in Northern and Southern Europe. Sofidel is headquartered in Italy with 17 manufacturing operations in eight countries across Europe producing in excess of 700,000 tonnes of tissue products per annum. LPC Group is based in Leicester with manufacturing sites in four different countries and has tissue making capacity of nearly 190,000 tonnes.
