Sonoco-Alcore S.a.r.l. announced on March 19 a general price increase on all coreboard grades, effective with shipments on or after April 2, 2007, it was announced by Eddie L. Smith, Sonoco vice president-industrial products and paper, Europe. Prices on the European continent will increase by Euro 30 per tonne and in the United Kingdom by GBP 20 (Euro 29) per tonne. The increase reflects a tightening of coreboard supply throughout Europe. Sonoco-Alcore S.a.r.l. is wholly owned by Sonoco and operates 30 tube and core plants and six paper mills on the European continent and in the United Kingdom.
