Stora Enso's Swedish mills affected by paper workers' strike

Apr 19, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. The production at Stora Enso's Skoghall Mill has been halted on 16 April at 6.00 CET due to the paper workers' strike in Sweden, company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network.
Stora Enso's other Swedish production units are affected by the overtime ban, which applies to all workplaces within Swedish paper and pulp industry. On 15 April, Swedish Paper Workers Union also announced further actions, including work stoppage at Stora Enso Fors Mill, from 6.00 pm CET on 26 April 2010.
"I deeply regret that there is no agreement with the Swedish Paper Workers Union. Our industry is already under pressure. The ongoing strike can result in a loss of customer confidence," says Elisabet Salander Björklund, Country Manager Sweden.
Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv) will compensate 100 % of the affected companies losses.
