STOCKHOLM, Sept. 28, 2001 (Press release) - Sveaskog AB, a company wholly owned by the Swedish state, has initiated talks with AssiDoman AB with the intention to ascertain the possibilities of making a public offer for all shares in AssiDoman. Such an offer would refer to the AssiDoman remaining after carrying out the currently planned dividend of shares in Billerud and the announced cash transfer of SEK 12 billion ($1.1 billion) through a share redemption. The intention is to conclude these talks as quickly as possible, after which additional information will be provided.
