The price increase is due to the improving balance on the pulp market. “Deliveries are high, inventories are low and demand looks generally good”, comments Ulf Edman, president of Sodra Cell International. “Despite increasing demand on paper, many paper producers still have problems with their profitability, though. That is why the price increase is limited to $20, despite the strong market balance.” The new softwood price of $650 will be valid until further notice.
